What's one of your favorite meals oppo? I can't easily decide, so I'll just go with last nights dinner, beanloaf, aka vegetarian meatloaf. It's BBQ based, made with witchcraft and love, and is amazingly good.

And before you ask, no I'm not vegetarian. Vegetarian meals tend to be cheaper than meat usually, and the way my wife makes them, I don't really mind.

Just so I can make this for myself, can you provide quantities for each ingredient. Like, how much witchcraft do I need?

Also...if this dish is made by witchcraft, by your wife...are you calling your wife a witch?

1. Go on a winter camping/backpacking trip

2. Fry Spam slices/bacon

3. Bake potato in coals

4. Enjoy

Pizza or burgers. I'm that simple...and quality doesn't matter...I'm just as content with elementary school cafeteria crap as I am with homemade stuff that's built of love and individually selected super ingredients or fancy restaurant crap that costs a days pay.

It's called flea and is traditionally made over an open fire. Google Albanian flea and I'm sure you'll find a recipe, it's the best breakfast meal ever.

It's tempting to just list all of the ridiculous American dishes from which I'm suffering withdrawal after being out of the country for 6 months, but I will say that the French have certainly impressed me with their ability to prepare duck in incredibly delicious ways. Magret de canard, potatoes fried in duck fat… mmmmm. And of course some delicious veggies, pastries, cheese and wine to go along with it!

Naw, witchcraft is my go to statement when I don't understand how she makes delicious food out of seemingly everyday items.

She posted the recipe of FB:

I looked around online for a vegetarian meatloaf using ingredients that I would actually have around, and didn't have much luck. So I ended up modifying/combining a couple I'd seen.

Vegetarian Meatloaf

3 cups (2 cans) beans (I use black)

1 small onion, diced (I use 1 tbsp dried minced)

1 cup quick-cooking oats

1-2 eggs, beaten

4 1/2 oz bbq sauce (could use ketchup, of course. Someone doesn't like ketchup, so we use bbq ;)

1 tsp salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp basil

1 tbsp parsley

1/2 tsp seasoning salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

optional: 3/4 cup shredded cheese

Mash beans partially. Mix everything together (I usually mash the beans in one bowl, then mix the eggs and all the seasonings in the other, then add that to the mashed beans, then add the oats and bbq sauce). Place in sprayed loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes, until golden brown (darker if using bbq).

I was like that too, until I got married. I grew up a picky eater too. But if she makes it, I'll try it.

And I hate restaurants to this day, unless it's fast food.

That looks properly EPIC! 10/10 would devourer.

For me anything from Angel's Burger in the Philippines. It is stupidly cheap and stupidly good. 2 cheeseburgers for 80 cents a footlong cheese dog for 90 cents. Fuck I'm drooling just thinking about it.

This is tough for me. Because I like a variety of cuisine. But if I had to pick it probably be a cheeseburger on the BBQ grill. Not sure anything can top that.

Thanks for the recipe for the meat(less)loaf. I'm always looking for new things to make or try, and given how dirt cheap beans are (I eat them almost daily, good source of fiber and protein) I'll definitely give this a whirl.

Oh yeah, I'll eat anything and like it fine...except cilantro...keep that shit away.

My wife always makes fancy stuff. Her whole family is vegetarian (or vegan or something) so I get to have all sorts of mishmashed plant stuffs.

I kinda feel bad sometimes when she spends hours prepping some sort of dish and all I can think is "this is alright, but a shitty burger is better and easier".

I have no idea how she does it. She one time made potato patties, with green beans and Cajun seasoning. It tasted heavenly, and she made it up in the spot.

Here's the beanloaf recipe .

Any time! My wife is a wiz at this stuff. We eat a lot of beans...and turkey/chicken (depends what's on sale).

Huh, I haven't had a burger in a long while. We have vegeburgers, another great thing she makes. That has beans in it as well, :). Lol.

My wife just made this recepie a few nights ago and it was seriously awesome. Im not a big chicken person. Its often bland and dry. But this was really good. Even the next day.

Garlic brownsugar chicken thighs.

If you are looking for food on the cheap I have to share this with you.

Just add bacon in there Luc for your meat!! Seriously this makes so much. The groceries cost about $27 for it, and it takes me almost an entire week to eat it all.
